Chlorine/Acid Wash Pool Service in North County San Diego

What is Acid Washing?

An acid wash is the process of removing mineral deposits and surface stains from the bottom and sides of your pool. A thin layer of the pool or spa interior’s surface is also removed in the process, giving your pool a fresh, clean look. It typically restores about 70-80 percent of your pool's original brightness.

Is Acid Washing Safe?

We don’t recommend you acid wash your pool or spa on your own because of the steps and materials involved. Leave it up to our trained professionals at Pool Walkers. Regarding the safety of your pool surface, acid washing is safe, but there is a limit to how many times you can get this service. This is because it strips a thin pool surface layer off every time it is done. We highly recommend getting regular pool cleanings and maintenance to keep stains and scale to a minimum so that you don’t have to get acid washes too often.

Pool Acid Washing Service Process

Pool Walkers will ensure that your next acid wash is performed safely and correctly, leaving your pool looking like new. Our process:

  • Drain your pool to prep for our service.

  • We will acid wash your pool, taking about 4-5 hours to complete.

  • We can then refill your pool.

The duration of the acid washing process depends on the size of your pool and the severity of staining or scale on the pool surface. On average it can about 2-3 full days between all the steps.
